Cranbourne Squadron is happy to announce their newest pilot, female member, Leading Cadet Laura Van Osta. Now sporting her Student Pilot eppalettes and Air Activities badges, Miss Van Osta feels like a real pilot. With 4 hours completed flying in VH-THF a very sporty Cessna 152 Aerobat at Tyabb Aerodrome, she has cemented the first building blocks in making her way to becoming a well respected pilot in either the Royal Flying Doctors Service or Angel Flight. |

Well done to all members who attended the NCO Camp,(22nd-24th May), at Gilwell Park, and completed all their exams.
With so many exams to do, promotions, DP's 3-1 and even flag party, the officers were stretched to their limits, but all exams were completed except the practical side of flag party. There were many promotions on the camp with squadrons gaining new NCO's and the old NCO's getting promoted.
Some Notable Promotions include; Corporal Badans, Corporal Louey and Corporal Wong are now all Seargents, and each well deserved. And an unexpected shock to Seargent Boyde was his promtion to Squadron Seargent, a long awaited award for all his hard efforts.

Cranbourne Squadron split on ANZAC day, the older members and Miss Boyde attended the city march while Leading Cadet Day, Mr Boyde and the rest of the squadron attended Cranbourne's local march.
The squadron at cranbourne were specially selected for the community link project, operated by the RSL, which allows the members to wear a name of a fallen hero, representing them with great honour.
Cranbourne has been involved with the community link program for the past 4 years and have been commended for their presentation.

Cadet Thomas of the Waverley Squadron maybe the Squadron's youngest, and smallest Cadet but he certainly displayed the "Anzac Spirit" supporting the local RSL by selling tokens in his local shopping centre.
